Don't know if you caught this story on the news last night - but it boggles the mind. A quick look at some of this nurse's tweets that preceded the news story - (also you can hear/watch the CNN interview via this Youtube video).
There's so many who believe this and that there's an alternate reality where the only truth is what comes out of Trump's mouth or his tweets. It truly is mind boggling. This form of denial intrigues me because I just can't understand how someone thinks the entire world created this hoax.
I refuse to read the front of the newspaper, and usually leave the room when my husband watches the news every night - I can't take it1 (The last time I was at my PCP I was whining about how anxious and angry I am at what is going on in this country and he very seriously offered me a script for anti-anxiety meds!
Thank you for telling us about this story, I have passed it on to relatives and friends.
Apparently some Republican governors who resisted masks in the past have changed their minds and want to require them because of the pressure on hospitals. Fingers crossed some sanity will prevail.
Unfortunately that was my first thought, too stupid to live, but it is kinda harsh. Nurses are now quitting and/or walking off the job because they can't take it anymore. They are overworked, under paid and mostly unappreciated and they put their lives in danger every day because some people are too stupid to live and this gov't has given little support to hospitals and medical facilities in keeping them supplied with PPE, never mind our fearless leaders promoting the whole hoax conspiracy...Aggh - 9 months into this whole thing and the mind has gone beyond boggled to totally fried.
Is it our education system? Why the !#@$!@#$ are so many people so dumb? AFter my wonderful care in the hospital, 12 hr shifts, overload of work, these people are caring for everyone. Unlike that ass in charge who only will help those of his ilk. I just don't get it. All those ugly fools marching this past week in DC? I hope they all get Covid. I feel badly for those who must care for them but honestly they need to wake up.
I too had phenomenal care in the hospital this past September, and continue to have the most marvelous medical assistants and techs and nurses every time I go in for tests and follow-ups (which seem to on an almost weekly basis for the last 2 months.)
Education? Not school education as much as social education - all of these fools, as we deem them, form their opinions from fear - fear of 'other', fear of the world changing - fear drives it all - unfortunately their fear of dying is the one fear they don't seem to have.

ReplyDeleteAnd bless the nurses and all medical/hospital workers - they have to take abuse from these ignorant, sad people. I can't even...
DeleteSo sad!

I just added a link to the Youtube video of the CNN interview. It is just so sad...
DeleteWay beyond sad; there is no explanation for such delusion.
ReplyDeleteI can't even, David - it renders me speechless.
DeleteLuckily for them there isn't a "you're too stupid to live" justification for refusing to treat someone.
