The United States Postal Service has been less than wonderful recently thanks to the previous federal government administration and is on track to getting even worse. They do have one nifty service tho, called informed delivery They will email you images of your soon-to-be-delivered mail. How soon is another matter.
I received an email this morning with an image of what most certainly is a greeting card from our daughter (as well as several other pieces of mail, including a bill I've already paid.) Looking forward to picking up today's mail!
I am notoriously known as 'not a morning person'. I do not speak in the morning. NO ONE speaks in the morning. My husband whispers "Good morning baby" when I shuffle into the living room and then - deadly silence until I break it - which isn't any time soon I can tell you.
There have been occasions when we have had house guests. For some reason house guests get up early. I have been known to announce, quietly but emphatically "There is no talking in the morning". My house, my rules.
So this is for all of you like-minded people (Hey Peggy!) -
How fun you're getting a card today! I love days when there's something coming in the mail that I look forward to getting! Usually our mail isn't first class so no pictures so we leave it down in the mailbox until we get something we actually want in the mail.
ReplyDeleteI don't like the smell of coffee and I really hate hearing someone making it in the morning! It seems like every guest we have gets up early to make coffee and make a whole bunch of noise in the process. I do not like the sound of clinking mugs or spoons or whatever the hell they use to make coffee breaking the morning silence. I had an old boss who lived alone her entire life and she had zero concept of being quiet in the morning. She even banged cupboard doors closed! Needless to say she was only invited to stay here one time!
I lived alone for years and believe me I WAS not making a lot of noise in the morning, coffee yes, noise no. Making coffee should not be a noisy endeavor. Morning is quiet time - Shhhh 🤫

DeleteI also like quiet mornings and here they are quiet except for the sound of a bottle of soda opening since neither of us are coffee drinkers. Heck we don't even own a coffee pot.

I suppose if you are drinking a cola beverage then there is caffeine involved. Is your hot beverage of choice tea then? Or do you not care for hot beverages?

DeleteI am a morning person, but I live alone, and there's no talking at all unless it's me talking to the guinea pigs. I wouldn't have it any other way.
